PHILOSOPHY and VISION
With offices in Italy and the US, we are in a unique position to find and import offbeat and distinctive wines from Italy’s various regions and varieties. If you’re looking for groovy wines from Italy, we’re a good fit.
We believe that one fulfills desire (partially), and creates intimacy (if you’re lucky), with wines that tug at the heart strings, keep you guessing, and have you reaching for another sip.
We taste wines for quality first and foremost, but we are keen to put price in perspective too. The wines we present could be described as having clean and teasing fruit, with good acidity: food-friendly wines. We often find these groovy wines on hill tops, higher still in the Alps, or in backwater towns with some genius producer at the helm.
With daily contact with producers and people here in italy, we know what’s going on in the vineyards, who the up-and- coming players are, and who’s been unjustly overlooked or needs another chance in a changing market. All of our producers are small production and artisan; over half are certified organic or biodynamic; all are sustainable.
In the end, our vision is much simpler than any necessary political and intellectual diatribes, we want to create memorable occasions, formal or informal, with a glass of interesting vino italiano.
We present and sell these wines in the major US markets through a network of passionate, knowledgeable and professional reprensentatives, brokers, and distributors.
